1-3
Welcome to Hungary! We will start the tour off in beautiful Budapest - compare the contrasting architecture of the two sides of the city –the Buda side and the Pest side on either side of the river. We will finish our exploration of this stunning city with a sunset cruise down the Danube river.

4-5
Explore the Ukrainian city of Uzhorod, which has long been a Bordertown and has long been influenced by the bordering countries of Slovakia and Hungary. Feel its multicultural vibe and its unique blend of cultures. Take this chance to explore its rich history and experience true Ukrainian hospitality!

6-7
Travel up into the mystic Carpathian Mountains, passing sweeping forests, flowing rivers and raging waterfalls! See one of the best preserved fortifications in Ukraine, a castle with a lot of history and stories. Experience the unique Hutsul culture, rich in traditions and superstitions, and – time for a Cobblestone exclusive – you are invited to a Hutsul Ukrainian wedding!

We finish our border city journey in a city that has adapted the influences of many different occupations, into the charming, unique city it is today! The “Paris of Ukraine”, Lviv, is a city with a unique vibe, famous for its coffee, chocolate and beer, it is perfect place to sit back, relax, and watch the world go by!

HOST: Cathy Paroschy Harris

Cathy is passionate about traditions and folklore, spending her spare time surrounded by culture. Since 1987 she has been the Artistic Director of the Chaban Ukrainian Dance Group in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She enjoys bringing stories, history, tradition and photography to the stage with dance and drama. She is often teaching the making of pysanky (Ukrainian Easter Eggs) or Korovai (wedding bread) to groups of youth and adults, sharing her creativity and enthusiasm for art and rich cultures. She loves to collect instruments, but doesn't know how to play any of them ... yet!

During the day, Cathy works in healthcare, focusing on prevention and screening. She is a Registered Dietitian who loves to cook and experiment with ingredients. Having traveled a lot with work and with dancers, she trials new-found cuisine on her lucky husband and two grown daughters.

She was raised on a fruit farm in the Niagara area, and loves that Cobblestone Freeway brings tours to the roots of each cultural experience - it's just like coming home. Pack your bags and come along!
