Cobblestone Freeway Tours resident Kozak Vincent Rees slips into Zouzou Hair in Edmonton to prepare for the upcoming Kozak tours that are happening this summer in Ukraine.

Proposed Itinerary

Start your journey arriving into one of the most ancient cities in Eastern Europe – Kyiv. The capital of Ukraine, and the former capital of the Kyivan Rus, this beautiful and historic city has played a key part in the past, present and future of this country. Explore its Golden Domed streets, visit open air museums, talk with the locals, and get a feel for this unique, cosmopolitan city at the heart of Ukraine.
Time to get into that Kozak Spirit! On the way to Poltava, visit Mamajeva Sloboda, an open air museum, which recreates the ancient way of Ukrainian life. A must-see for any Kozak: Ukraine’s first-ever Kozak Sich on Khortytsia Island! Visit the Museum of Zaporizhian Kozaks to learn about the exciting beginnings of the Kozak movement, meet real life Kozaks, and see how they practise the Kozak style of life day to day.
Near to Cherkasy, is the town of Chyhyryn, which is known as the first Kozak capital of independent Ukraine – explore this ancient capital and walk in the steps of the Ukrainian Kozaks!
Visit Kaniv, the resting place of the famous Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko – his forefathers were Kozaks, and his poem “Hamalia” is an ode to a famous Zaporizhian Ottaman, leading his kozaks into battle. Take a couple of days to explore Kyiv before continuing on our adventure.
Wander the ancient cobblestoned streets of the fort city - Kamianets-Podilsky. Explore the impressive castle on the Smotrych River, and set foot inside Khotyn Fortress, one of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine!
After all the excitement, we will end our tour in the Paris of Ukraine – Lviv! This beautiful and historic city is full of quaint charm, cobblestoned streets and classical architecture - you won’t fail to be charmed by this ‘city of love’!
