Arrive in San Jose and enjoy a fabulous welcome dinner of contemporary Costa Rican Cuisine served in a nature reserve on a family farm in San Jose. Explore the city with a tour of the National Theatre, the National Museum, and a walking tour of the historic Barrio Amon neighborhood. Go on a nature hike around the area through a vineyard and later a walking tour of the City of Witches (Escazu).
Drive to Dota through the mountains. Tour the coffee plantation of a cooperative coffee farm and stay at a wilderness lodge in a magical cloud forest. Drive through the small coffee farms along Cierra de la Muerte (Peak of Death) and end up at beautiful Manuel Antonio beach just in time for a sunset cocktail and monkey watching. Tour a real mountain village, enjoy a refreshing swim beneath mesmerizing waterfalls and try your luck at organic tilapia fishing. Optional zip line & horseback ride.
Your choice! Go white water rafting along the class III rapids of the Savegre River and be astounded by the awesome canyons, waterfalls and primary rainforest of Costa Rica OR go on a tour of a Rainforest Spice Farm and wow your senses with the taste and smell of aromatic spices, medicinal plants, and essential oils!
Explore the rainforest, then relax on some of the most pristine and quiet beaches in the world. Visit an indigenous reserve, meet with the weaving artisans of a women’s cooperative keeping the traditions of their people alive, and discover the healing properties of herbs and plants from a First-Nations healer. Celebrate your trip with a goodbye dinner and presentation of typical dances and music.

Larissa's parents were producers of Canada's largest multicultural events so it's no surprise she loves to travel and immerse herself in different cultures. A graduate of York University's Dance program with a specialty in Dance Ethnology, her studies focused on Ukrainian dance in Canada She danced professionally with such companies as Les Sortileges - Canada's National Folk Dance Ensemble in Montreal and has performed throughout North America and Europe. Upon moving to Edmonton, she performed with the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers and competed in Irish step dancing. Since moving to Costa Rica in 2001 (and marrying Roberto Leiva), Larissa has worked in tourism and published Costa Rica - The Bradt Guidebook.
